Native Foresters
B) Northern Construction Zone
• The vegetation in this area is remnant/regrowth sclerophyll forest (Least concern RE 12.9-
10.17 Eucalyptus acmenoides, E. major, E. siderophloia +/- Corymbia citriodora subsp.
variegata woodland on sedimentary rocks). Refer to Figure 7.
• Nine significant native trees with dbh 500mm or greater occur to form the canopy, some
with well-formed habitat hollows. One Pink Bloodwood (Corymbia intermedia) with dbh
600mm should be retained with understorey cleared. These specimens to be cleared or
retained are shown in Figure 3 and Appendix C.
• Several native trees and shrubs constitute the dense mid-storey including Macaranga
tanarius, Alphitonia excelsa and Petalostigma triquetra.
• The understorey is formed by a number of native sedges including Lomandra longifolia
and Dianella caerulea, and a grassy turfed area.
• Proposed works may impact up to 1500 m2 of native vegetation within the Northern
Construction Zone.
