The following items were not budgeted for in the 2020-2021 financial year:
$2,860 for traffic counts as internal counters were unable to be used. This will be an
additional cost to consider when the program is reviewed and counts are required for new
precincts, if internal resources are still not available.
$2,650 for the Bike On Bicycle Workshops at St Teresa’s Catholic College, this expense was
identified as part of the working group meeting to encourage more students to ride.
Not budgeted for items will be recovered through savings in incentives and a Community Road
Safety Grant, from the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR). The grant application has
been submitted and if successful, would see the roll out of additional cycle skills sessions across
the Shire’s primary schools, as well as guided bike rides and bike maintenance workshops for
teenagers. The Grant would be 100% funded by TMR with in-kind support from Noosa Council.
The project is on track to be delivered on budget.
