for 620, 622, 630 and 631 is not readily available but has been requested from TransLink.

It is difficult to estimate the cost to provide 620, 622, 630 and 631 for Noosa only, however based
on the 2013/14 Free Holiday Buses from the 1-5 January 2014, Noosa Council paid 20% and
Sunshine Coast Council paid 80% of the loss of revenue for Routes 620, 622, 630, 631.
Noosa Council’s 20% share was $10,133(exc GST). As a rough estimate this would be
approximately $50,665 if Noosa Council had paid 100% ($10,133 x 5 = (5 days) and a rough
estimate for 10 days would be approximately $101, 330.

Consultation

External Consultation - Community & Stakeholder
Tourism Noosa
• The passenger assist staff were brilliant, so friendly and helpful. Definitely assisted in helping
people understand which bus to catch, where to stand etc.
• Timetable is not necessary, so long as there are posters in the Visitor Info Centres and Free
Holiday Buses flyers could be handed out to visitors with the existing TransLink bus
   timetables.
• Sign writing on the bus is a great way to get the message out.

Sunshine Coast Council
• No longer delivering Free Holiday Buses Program.

TransLink
• Request for passenger data

Internal Consultation
Executive Office, Events Officer - Heather Williams
• Utilise Council’s online tools more in the lead up.
• More newspaper stories in the lead up e.g. Story on a bus driver who has been driving the
Free buses since it began, visitors who return to Noosa for free buses etc.
• Banners are very effective.
• Passenger assistant ensures a good customer experience which is a good marketing tool in
   itself.
