Noosa Civic
Erosion Sediment Control Plan

1 Concept Earthworks
1.1 Site Earthworks
With the proposed expansion of the Noosa Civic centre it is necessary to re-profile the expansion area into
the desired shape for the construction of the required carpark and building platforms. The intent is to work
with the existing land form as much as is possible. It is necessary to excavate the area for the carpark under
the proposed new buildings and to shape the balance of the site to suit the needs of the carpark and access
connections.

1.2 External Catchment
A minor external catchment enters the proposed construction site from the east and runs overland across the
site to the existing natural gully on the immediate western boundary of the proposed site. It is proposed to
form an open channel during the initial earthworks phase to convey this external catchment around the
construction, to the north and south. As the final stormwater drainage solution is realised and becomes
operational this will ultimately convey the clean water from the external catchment and the open drainage
channel will be removed.

1.3 Site Physical Characteristics Constraints and Opportunities
The site constraints lay primarily with the proximity to the existing commercial development to the north-west
and the covenant area immediately adjacent the site on the west. Sufficient erosion and sediment controls,
along with appropriate drainage management, will mitigate any potential impact as far as practicable.
Communication with the neighbouring community will be undertaken and contact information provided in the
event of issues arising from the works.
