7.3       Access and Egress Management

The site is within approximately 15km of the nearest full time Queensland Fire and Emergency Services
location (Pomona Fire Station), with local rural fire brigades also likely responders, but with a response time
dependant on volunteers to turn out.

The proposed driveway is approximately 100m long and adequate turning opportunity will be available for
fire fighting appliances (a minimum inside radius of 6m and minimum outside radius of 12m).


7.4       Water Supplies and Utilities

The development is dependent on harvested and stored rainwater supply. A minimum of 10 Kl of water
dedicated to firefighting purposes will be provided within 3m of a hardstand area accessible to emergency
fire appliances. The tank will be fitted with a 50mm ballvalve and male camlock coupling.

This water reserve should be supported by a pump that is powered independently of mains electricity supply.
Water supply outlets shall be located within 10m of the building, and away from any potential fire hazards
such as venting gas bottles.

The same tank may be used for both fire fighting and domestic water supply, by using different offtake points
as shown in Figure 11 below.
