2.11.2 Residual Risk
As a result of putting in place these risk mitigation strategies the Noosa LDMG believes that
it has enhanced the Shire’s capacity to respond to and recover from a disaster event,
however there remain a number of residual risks which still need to be managed.
Going forward the Noosa LDMG has identified that the major residual risks for the Shire will
occur in:
a <1:100 flood event
a sudden onset event such as a hazardous chemical spill, a terrorist attack, an
earthquake or a tsunami; or
from a major pandemic.
In any of the above circumstances it is unlikely that the Local Group will be able to manage
the event without external assistance from the District and the State Government.
