J000202-002-R-Rev1 June 2016
Core’s Geotechnical Investigation of the Site (refer Core report J000206-001-R-Rev0, dated April 2016)
indicates land zone 9 – fine grained sedimentary rocks (Siltstone) underlays the Site.
8.2 Protected Plants Flora Survey
A significant species flora survey was undertaken across the Site and immediate surrounding area. The
Protected Plant Survey was undertaken in accordance with Protected Plants Survey Guidelines (DERM
2014).
The findings of the Protected Plant Survey identified:
No significant protected flora species were identified within the survey area
Clearing of the Site is considered exempt under the Vegetation Management Act
8.3 Fauna Habitat Assessment
Significant species identified during the desktop assessment data base searches are presented in Appendix
B and Appendix C. These species and associated habitats are summarised in Table B1Significan Species
Likelihood of Occurrence presented in Appendix B.
Following the field survey an assessment of the significant species preferred habitats and those habitats
occurring on the Site was undertaken.
Professional judgment was used to outline the potential of the species occurring on the Site as:
Nil – Not possible for the species to occur on the Site, or immediate area
Unlikely – Species habitat does not match the habitat criteria of the species and therefore it is unlikely to
find the species onsite
Potentially – Indicates that the species may occur on Site usually as a fly over or migration movement.
Habitat of the species is not generally identified to occur on site however habitat for the species occurs
within close proximity and movement through the Site may occur
Probable - identifies species with habitat values identified within the Site overlap those of the species
identified. It is likely that the species may occur within the Site.
Table 4 below summarises those significant species identified as potentially and probably occurring on the
Site.
