PLANNING & ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 7 FEBRUARY 2017
Considerable feedback was received over the consultation period with over 230 people attending
the 11 pop-up stands, various comments made on Your Say Noosa and approximately 130
written submissions received. Submissions were received from 12 local Community Groups.
A detailed summary and consideration of feedback is included in the table at Attachment 1.
3. Overview of Feedback
The submissions raise about 500 separate issues The community has provided Council with a
large range of ideas and responses to matters raised in the Discussion Paper. This is useful
feedback on a range of topics though many are not related to the new Noosa Plan. Not all of the
ideas in the Discussion Paper were commented upon but in general there was no significant
opposition to ideas in the Discussion Paper. Many individual property owners took the
opportunity to update Council about their development plans and to seek support in the new
Noosa Plan.
The number of responses in terms of a percentage of residents of Noosa Shire is quite small and
so while the ideas have value no statistical relevance should be attributed to the responses.
Notwithstanding that comment the diagrams below illustrate information about how submissions
came to Council and the breakdown across themes and localities.
Where interesting ideas and operational issues have been raised that are not planning scheme
related, these will be referred to relevant branches of Council for separate consideration.
Examples include road safety and signage, dog parks, littering, maintenance and condition of
Council assets etc.
