PLANNING & ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 7 FEBRUARY 2017
B. Note a future report to Council may be presented to adjust population and development
projections in Attachment 3 if any major discrepancies are discovered following
completion of the staff final review of the supporting DMaTT GIS output data; and
C. Request the CEO to write to Unitywater thanking their staff in providing the DMaTT
population and development data for use in Council’s LGIP and to commit Council’s
ongoing support and assistance in future DMaTT updates.
Finance & Risk
Council needs to have amended its current Priority Infrastructure Plan (PIP) to a Local
Government Infrastructure Plan (LGIP) by 30 June 2018 in order to continue issuing
infrastructure charges and impose conditions about trunk infrastructure on development.
Since January 2014 to December 2016, $7,520,613 has been collected in infrastructure charges
equating to a current average of $208,905 per month or $2,506,871 per annum. The 2016/2017
budget has conservatively estimated infrastructure charges revenue at $1,687,329 which has
already been exceeded by $554,785.
A long term risk of LGIPs is the commitment ultimately made to provide future infrastructure at
the desired standards of service to meet development growth.
