SETTLERS COVE NOOSA Landscape Master Plan 9.1 Planting Near Services To minimise impacts to infrastructure. planting of tree species is to be avoided near all services. The following planting distances are a guide to minimum distances between services and tree plantings. Min. Distance Service 4.0m Power poles & Street lights 1.5m Sewer main & Water main 2.0m Stormwater pit 1.0m Other services 0.6m Hardstand path or kerb Note: Careful consideration is required in selecting plant species near services. The location of nearby services must be identified prior to planting works Although not considered part of landscape operational works, this is especially relevant for ecological restoration in the Road Reserve Bushland area adjacent to Single Residential Lots 24 -33. In this situation a rising main runs parallel to the lot boundaries and is to be restored to natural bushland. Future pathway connections may follow this route and therefore it is recommended that tree species should be not be planted within 2.0m from the line of services. Endemic non-woody shrub species considered to be less than 2.0m in height at maturity, ground covers, grasses and the like may be planted over the services. These species may require slashing along this easement for various reasons including fire management. Plants under overhead power lines when mature should not grow within 2.0m of powerlines. Species selected shall be in accordance with the Noosa Landscaping Guidelines but shall also comply with the Energex Safe Tree Planting Guidelines in respect to recommended plant heights and required distances from relevant services. name elle eee eee elo LandGraphics Maroochydore 04.05.2005 Landscape Architects and Environmental Planners PAGE 19
