March 2017.
The panel’s summary evaluation spreadsheet for the activity is included as Attachment 1 and
further detail is provided below.
Assessment Outcome Detail
The assessment panel recommends that Amanda Obara replace the existing permit holder
Lynette Shannon. The respondent has previously worked as a massage therapist and has
founded a website booking platform for consumers to search for and book a therapeutic massage
from a network of therapists based on their requirements (e.g. type of service, location,
availability etc.) The platform provides real time access to the therapist’s calendars.
Overall, the respondent’s submission was of a high standard. In particular, the applicant
demonstrated a professional approach to business planning, operations, high levels of service
and the panel noted the proposed contribution to the local community.
The panel noted the long association of the incumbent to the beach massage permit but found
the recommended applicant’s submission to be of a higher standard and offering enhanced
levels of service.
