Plate 2 – Characteristic vegetation within the vegetation covenant
The vegetated areas on site which are proposed to be cleared/developed were observed to exhibit
an average canopy height of approximately 16m with an average projective foliage canopy cover of
40%. The canopy was dominated by regrowth Acacia melanoxylon (black wattle) and A. disparrima
(hickory wattle), with juvenile Lophostemon confertus (brushbox) and numerous Eucalyptus species
also present at low densities. The exotic species Pinus elliottii (slash pine) is present in varying
densities including areas of high density. The understorey was generally dominated by exotic grass
species with occasional native shrubs present. Plate 3 depicts typical conditions within the vegetation
to be cleared.
