3. Publication requirements

Pursuant to section 182 of the Regulation, a local government must:

      a. adopt its annual report within one month after the day the Auditor-General gives the
         Auditor General’s audit report about the local government’s financial statements for the
         financial year to the local government, and
      b. publish its annual report on its website within two weeks of adopting the annual report.

Human Rights

In developing the Annual Report, the subject matter has been considered in accordance with
the requirements of the Queensland Human Rights Act 2019. It is considered that the subject
matter does not conflict with any human rights, including the right to information, and supports
a human rights approach to decision-making by Council.

Finance
      •   Graphic design for the Annual Report was outsourced to a local supplier at a cost of
          $11,500 (ex. GST).
      •   Council paid an additional $400 (ex. GST) for a licence to use a specific image in the
          Annual Report.



Risk & Opportunities

The Annual Report forms part of Council’s commitment to delivering transparency, governance
reporting to the community and legislative compliance. Failing to ensure the accuracy of the
prescribed disclosures exposes Council to a risk of legislative non-compliance and reputational
damage.

External Consultation - Community & Stakeholder

Extensive consultation has occurred across Council to assist in the collection and preparation
of information for the Annual Report.
