5.3.4 DRIVEWAYS AND PARKING CODE The proposed new lot complies with the intent of the Driveways and Parking Code in that the development provides a large lot that has adequate space for parking and manoeuvring. Access to the new lot is existing and will not impact on existing landscaping. The crossover to Proposed Lot 32 will be upgraded in accordance with Council’s standard requirements. A footpath is not proposed given there are no footpaths in Currawong Crescent and a new footpath will detract from the amenity of the area. There is an existing footpath in the David Low Way verge. Proposed Lot 31 contains an existing dwelling with a double garage. Proposed Lot 32 is adequate in size to contain a dwelling with a double garage. The remainder of the Driveways & Parking Code is not applicable. 5.3.5 WATER QUALITY AND DRAINAGE CODE The reconfiguration is consistent with the Water Quality and Drainage Code in that it provides a stormwater drainage system to convey stormwater from the lawful point of discharge to Council’s stormwater infrastructure. Existing lots on the northern side of Currawong Crescent drain stormwater into the verge which then makes its way to Council’s stormwater infrastructure near 17 Currawong Crescent. It is proposed to have a similar arrangement for both lots as part of this subdivision. Both lots will contain a stormwater infiltration pit with an overflow directed onto the verge as shown in Crocker & Associates Operational Works Drawings in Attachment 6. The infiltration systems will take stormwater from roofs and will store the water before slowly releasing to the verge. Planning Report | 29 Currawong Crescent, Peregian Beach | 19/10/2021 24
