Finance
A temporary event permit fee is not chargeable to Noosa Long Weekend Inc. as it is a not-for-profit
entity. A temporary event permit fee of $551.50 will be charged to J & S Investing Pty Ltd for the
Robb Family Trust trading as Noosa Hinterland Property Expo as it is a commercial entity.

Risks & Opportunities
Risks
•     The risk of event based COVID-19 transmission is not entirely eliminated.
•     Financial and reputational risks for Noosa Long Weekend Inc. and J & S Investing Pty Ltd for
      the Robb Family Trust trading as Noosa Hinterland Property Expo, local businesses and
      tourism if a COVID-19 outbreak prompts lockdown measures.
•     There is still no available insurance coverage for COVID-19. Council’s defence of legal claims
      will be funded by the ratepayer.

Opportunities
•   Allows smaller style local events to proceed.
•   The decision sends a signal to event organisers that Council is willing to support event
    organisers who adapt to low risk event management.
•   Well managed events adhering to COVID Safe event practices and criteria noted above
    present less risk to the community than larger style events.
