Primary Action 1: Monitoring Fire Weather
RESPONSIBILITY: The chief and deputy chief fire wardens rostered on at 9am each day are
responsible for monitoring the three day fire weather outlook.

These fire danger rating maps can be found online (via the Rural Fire Service Queensland
homepage) at:

Alternatively, fire danger weather forecasts for Queensland are available via the Noosa Shire
Council Disaster Dashboard and the Bureau of Meteorology at:

The three day fire danger rating outlook is to provide the relevant forecast conditions which prompt
action pursuant to this Plan. Each day at 9am, the chief and deputy chief fire wardens are
responsible for checking the three day fire danger rating outlook during the annual fire season, from
1 August to 30 March, inclusive. It must be noted, the three day forecast maps can and do change,
thus the importance of daily checks.

Sunrise Beach is within the Southeast Coast district.

If the three day fire danger rating outlook indicates EXTREME OR CATASTROPHIC conditions are
forecast within the next three days, move the following section entitled ‘Decision to Evacuate’.
