Risk management is the identification, assessment and prioritisation of risks. It also
includes the steps taken to minimize such risks.
Council has adopted an Enterprise Risk Management Policy Framework that promotes a
standard and systematic approach to risk management throughout Council in accordance
with AS/NZ ISO 31000:2018.
The Audit and Risk Committee assumes an oversight role in the management of strategic
risks and the Strategic Risk Register is reviewed by the Committee and Executive Team
on a 4 monthly basis.
At the operational level risk management is undertaken by the Branch and included in
Branch Plans.
