3. CONTEXT
The LfWSEQ Guidelines sit within a broader governance framework for the LfWSEQ program
including the following key documents and structures:

   •   National Arrangement. The Arrangement to Coordinate the Land for Wildlife Scheme, signed
       between the State of Victoria and the Host Council on behalf of the LfWSEQ Steering
       Committee. This document transfers rights from the State of Victoria to the 13 Local
       Governments of South East Queensland to use the LfW trademarked name.
   •   Ten Year Plan 2020-2030. The Land for Wildlife South East Queensland Strategic
       Collaboration of Local Governments Ten Year Plan 2020-2030. This document identifies
       strategic direction and regional opportunities.
   •   Terms of Reference. The LfWSEQ Terms of Reference outlines roles and responsibilities of
       the Host Council, the 13 Local Governments, Regional Coordinator and Steering Committee.
       This is the program’s key governance document.
   •   Steering Committee. A committee comprised of representatives from the 13 Local
       Governments and the Regional Coordinator that work together to deliver LfWSEQ. The
       Steering Committee is LfWSEQ’s governing body and decision-making entity.
   •   Host Council. As per the Terms of Reference, the Host Council is nominated by the Steering
       Committee to hold funds on behalf of other Local Governments and manages external
       contracts related to LfWSEQ regional coordination.
   •   LfW Landholder Agreement. An agreement every LfW members signs to join the program.

The LfWSEQ Guidelines (2021) supersede the Queensland Land for Wildlife Guidelines (2011).

Figure 1 below shows the framework of LfWSEQ governance documents including the LfWSEQ
Guidelines.
