4.3 Confidentiality
The 13 Local Governments are bound by the Privacy Act (Cth) and the Information Privacy Act (Qld)
regarding the collection, management and use of LfWSEQ members’ personal information. As such,
the 13 Local Governments must not make public any information from which a LfWSEQ member
might be identified, including property data or maps, without prior written consent of the LfWSEQ
member/s.
4.4 Data Management
As parties to the Terms of Reference, the 13 Local Governments agree to enter data relating to
LfWSEQ members and their properties into a secure, online regional database (currently using
Enquire software). The regional database is a key tool for client management and regional reporting.
It records membership contact information, client engagement and property ecological assets and
threats. As per the Terms of Reference, the Host Council holds a contract with an external provider
for delivery of a LfWSEQ regional database. All Local Governments have secure access to data within
their council. The Regional Coordinator has access to data across the Local Governments to enable
compilation and analysis of regional statistics.
