EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Not applicable.

RECOMMENDATION
That Council note the report by Coordinator Property and Land Management to the Planning and
Organisation Committee Meeting dated 20 May; and
A. Grant a three year lease to Sunshine Coast Aviators Inc. with respect to the new hangar to
       be constructed, and
B. Grant a three year trustee permit to the Sunshine Coast Model Flyers Inc. with respect to
the existing hangar at the site.

REPORT
This report has been prepared in accordance with the Resolution from the Noosa Council
Ordinary Meeting 2 January 2014 which resolved in part to:

iii. A further report be presented to Noosa Council regarding land tenure matters relating to
the Reserve for Landing Ground for Aircraft (Teewah Airstrip)

The lease over the original hangar site at the Noosa North Shore Landing Ground Landing
Ground for Aircraft (lot 7 MCH4562) was for a 25 year period (1/01/1981 – 31/12/2005) to R&M
Barrink. On expiration of this lease the solicitor acting for the Barrinks’ wrote to Council
requesting that the improvements (in reference to the hangar) not be removed due in part
because the Noosa Model Flyers were discussing the future use of the hangar with Council.

Subsequently, Noosa Council offered a three year agreement to the Noosa Model Flyers Inc
commencing 2006 and expiring in 2009. The agreement was signed but not registered.

There are currently two user groups utilising the existing hangar and neither have current tenure.
