An Application for Tenure was sent to the group 10 April 2014.
The Application for Tenure has been received by Council.
Sunshine Coast Aviators were requested by Council on 17 April 2014 to provide an updated
constitution to reflect the current activities of the group as the previous constitution related to
the Sunshine Coast Hang Gliding Club. As of 12 May 2014 this item was still outstanding.
Access road to site
The current access track is approximately three kilometres long through national park to the
landing ground.
The existing track is not legal access to the site. The existing road reserve (located
approximately one kilometre to the east of the current access track) is the designated legal
access, but the road reserve is heavily vegetated and would require extensive works to bring
it to an appropriate standard for vehicular use.
To legalise the use of the access track it is required to become road reserve. Queensland
Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) have requested that the existing access track be
dedicated as Council road reserve.
QPWS have indicated their preference is for access to occur adjacent to the third cutting via
the existing ‘Powerline Track’ heading west which intersects the current access track. As a
result approximately one kilometre can be reduced off the proposed Council road reserve
(see Attachment 2). To allow this access a number of boulders require removal, to allow an
access gate to be constructed.
