As part of the development there is a slight increase in roof area which results in an almost negligible amount of additional runoff. Black & More were informed that there is a requirement to maintain a maximum of 25L/sec out of each kerb adaptor, although the design event was not specified. Council planning scheme was also consulted for further requirements, specifically “PSP05 – Engineering Design Standards – Roads, Drainage and Earthworks”. It is proposed to install two kerb adaptors and evenly split roof water flows between them. Also, it is proposed to install a surface drainage pit in the covered car park, which will mainly address maintenance flows (i.e. flows from hose) but will also provide relief if flooding were to occur. The open areas will will maintain existing ground levels and grades. Any landscaping work will maintain a 1% grade toward the street and promote sheet flow. Please refer to the attached roof plan mark-up which detailed the proposed stormwater drainage measures. Please note the location of downpipes and underground pipes shown is indicative only and is to be confirmed with the architect. The location of the kerb adaptors, however, shall be 1m offset from the lot boundaries, as per Noosa Council’s design standards. Roof flows shall be split between the kerb outlets. These proposed measures will provide an overall improvement to the stormwater drainage of the site. Please do not hesitate to contact our office should you wish to discuss this further.
