 1.4 Objective of this Plan

This TMP summarises the overall traffic management strategy and traffic safety requirements, associated with
the earthworks, shoulder widening, vehicular access/egress and Construction Stages. The overarching aim,
being to ensure a coordinated approach to traffic management and the successful delivery of the program of
works, whilst minimising disruption to road users and the surrounding community.

The TMP provides an overview of measures to manage and control movement during the works. It sets out the
responsibilities for the safe and orderly passage of vehicular and pedestrian traffic around the site at all times
from the commencement of work on site. This TMP shall be updated and approved as required.

It outlines the commitment, responsibility and strategy to be adopted to ensure compliance with the traffic
management and traffic safety requirements of the ‘Transport and Main Roads Standard Specification –
Provision for Traffic’ (MRS02) and the MUTCD Part 3 Work on Roads. This plan seeks to ensure the certainty
of delivery of the prescribed traffic management and control devices and to minimise any disruptions to traffic.
