The Draft Plan was available for comment:
   via Council’s web site;
   via Council’s on-line community engagement portal Your Say Noosa; and
   circulated electronically to business representative groups and the Local Economic Plan
     Project Focus Group members for distribution to their networks.

Public comment received was generally supportive in nature; however amendments have been
made to the draft Plan to strengthen the document in response to community feedback. These
amendments include:
    reinforcement of the Local Economic Plan framework to demonstrate the relationship
      between the documents that make up the plan, eg:
      - Local Economic Plan is a strategic overarching document with a five year time span;
      - The Action Plan is annually reviewed and updated;
      - The Implementation Plan is developed annually and describes initiatives undertaken to
         deliver the plan;
    ensuring the interdependent relationship between the environment, the community and the
      economy is clearly expressed;
    reporting on economic performance within a sustainability framework to reflect those
      interdependencies;
    clearly articulating that retaining and attracting talented people is central to the
      development of a smart economy; and
    ensuring an alignment with the broader regional economy and State and Federal
      Government priorities.

Additional minor text changes were also made.

That Council note the report by the Senior Economic Development Officer to the Planning and
Organisation Committee meeting dated 10 November 2015 and
A.   Approve the “Draft Noosa Shire Local Economic Plan” for the purpose of public exhibition
     and comment; and
B.   Request the Chief Executive Officer to collate and consider the feedback received for
     inclusion in the Noosa Shire Local Economic Plan

That Council note the report by the Senior Economic Development Officer to the Planning &
Organisation Committee Meeting dated 31 March 2015 and:
A.   Agree to the development of a Noosa Shire Local Economic Plan
B.   Undertake a community engagement process to develop the Noosa Shire Local Economic
     Plan as Proposed in Attachment 1
C.   Appoint Cr Bolton and Cr Jurisevic as members of the Project Focus Group; and
D.   Authorise the Chief Executive Officer to appoint the members of the Project Focus Group
     after consulting with the Mayor and Councillors.
