Where appropriate, management and control actions will be identified and implemented to prevent future occurrence of the incident/con-conformance. This IMP will be reviewed every six (6) months to ensure that experience gained from implementation of the plan is incorporated and an adaptive management framework is applied. 6.5 Justification for Impact Management strategies The Impact Management strategies detailed in this plan are generally consistent with those outlined in the National recovery plan for the Wallum Sedgefrog and other wallum-dependent frog species prepared by Ed Meyer, Jean-Marc Hero, Luke Shoo and Ben Lewis at the School of Environmental and Applied Sciences, Griffith University, Gold Coast. The management strategies outlined in this IMP are also based on the approved SMP for Wallum Frogs – Finland Road upgrade (Native Foresters, 2016). Regarding Swamp Crayfish, this IMP is based on an IMP developed for a roadworks upgrade project at Roy’s Road, Beerwah which was approved by DES. In the absence of detailed knowledge on breeding habitat requirements and breeding ecology of Swamp Crayfish, it is considered that the mitigation strategies proposed offer the best possible solution and address the overall objective of the SMP for which the IMP has been prepared. Native Foresters has previously prepared an approved SMP for Wallum frogs : IMP – EVNT Species Breeding Places – Cooroy Noosa Rd and Beckmans RD Intersection Upgrade – Document No.210217-IMP, February 2021. It is considered likely that the subject EVNT species individuals will persist within proximity of the site. In future, once the area is stabilised and vegetation cover is restored, recolonisation of the edges of the disturbance zone by EVNT species may also occur, as they are tolerant of some degree of disturbance.
