6.3 Contingency planning
In the event of unexpected injury sustained by an EVNT species (or other native fauna) or impact
on its breeding habitat, the following procedures shall apply as a minimum.
Injured fauna from clearing or construction activities will be inspected by the Fauna
Spotter-catcher to assess the extent of the injury or sickness.
Where the injury is considered to be minor (e.g. minor abrasion) and the animal is
otherwise alert and active, the individual may be released to reduce the stress on the
animal.
In the event that an individual is suffering injuries of a more serious nature it will be
transported to the nearest veterinary clinic or licensed wildlife rescue organisation.
