5.3. Noise Management Plan
5.3.1. Gym Activities – Free Weight Area
Although a floor system will be installed for the free weight area, it does not mean that
occupants of the gym can drop weights without the potential for impacts to the adjoining
tenancies. For the new floor isolation system to be successful, management of the free weights
area will be required. Suitable operation of the gym shall require the following management
controls:

     1. Signage shall be placed within the free weights area to inform club members that the
dropping of heavy weights on the floor is not allowed and should include a notice that
behaviour will be monitored by the surveillance system.

     2. Members shall be instructed about the appropriate behaviour within the free weights
area and shall include specific instruction on handling weights and placing them on
the floor in place of dropping.

     3. Staff shall be trained to be vigilant and monitor the free weight area and shall
intervene if a member does not handle the free weights correctly, firstly providing
instruction if required or reprimanding the non-compliant member.

5.3.2. Responsible Person

     1. The gym shall nominate a person (senior staff member) who is onsite during normal
operating hours and is available outside of normal hours to implement and manage
        the noise management plan.

5.3.3. Responsible Person – Duties

     1. The “Responsible Person” is required to receive, document and respond in an
appropriate manner to complaints regarding the gyms operation with regards to noise.

     2. The “Responsible Person” shall ensure commercial tenants of the building have their
contact details in the event of complaints.

     3. The “Responsible Person” shall regularly review the Noise Management Plan (NMP)
and ensure the NMP continued implementation for the site. They shall review the plan
performance based on aforementioned indication including comments from staff,
patrons and tenants in the building.

     4. The nominated person shall be responsible for documenting changes and
        modifications to the NMP.

     5. The responsible person shall ensure that staff and patrons actively support the noise
Management plan and its continued use for the Gym.

     6. The “Responsible Person” shall ensure the NMP is available for all patrons upon
request and post the relevant sections in locations within the gym for patrons and
        staff to view.
