Proposed Library Kiosks
The preferred kiosk would be required to use advanced technology to integrate with the Library
Management System through a LAN interface. The kiosk would need to hold enough library
items (300+) to allow customers to browse and use an intuitive and simple touchscreen system
to guide the customer through the borrowing and returns process. Advanced reporting
functionality, including automatic stocktake is required to aid collection management. CCTV
capabilities can also be provided in these type of kiosks to improve security (optional). The kiosks
would be housed externally under weatherproof structures to provide all-weather 24/7 access.
