Traffic Impact Assessment
Noosa Civic Expansion
8 Sustainable Transport Provision
8.1 Public Transport
As explained in section 2.5, the existing public transport facilities at Noosa Civic are adequately serviced with
four bus routes that each frequent the interchange every 30 minutes during the peak hour periods. The
interchange will be located in the heart of Noosa Civic post expansion and is thus considered to be in an
appropriate position to service both the existing Noosa Civic and the expansion. The frequency of services
to the interchange as it currently operates is also considered acceptable for the proposed expansion.
8.2 Active Transport
8.2.1 Pedestrian Provision
The extension proposes a pedestrian link to the existing Noosa Civic and further links to surrounding
development, external pedestrian paths and public transport facilities. Internal connections also provide
access to undercroft car parks, with appropriate pedestrian external connections to at-grade car parks and
taxi bays. Figure 8-1 illustrates the existing and proposed pedestrian footpaths along the study roads.
