8.2.2 Bicycle Parking Provision
Bicycle lanes are proposed on-street along all new roads, including Central Road, the Hofmann Drive
extension, and the Southern Access road. The bicycle lanes are consistent with the existing provision on
roads within Noosa Civic. These connections link to the Noosa Civic expansion access points and adjacent
visitor parking facilities. Visitor bicycle parking is proposed to be located in the vicinity of the main access
points and will be clearly visible and easy to find for customers and visitors of the Noosa Civic expansion.
Additionally, lock-up bicycle parking will be provided for employees, with supporting end-of-trip facilities,
including showers and lockers located in close proximity to the parking areas. The following describes the
recommended bicycle facilities to be provided at the Noosa Civic expansion:
   > 23 lockable visitor bicycle spaces
   > 40 secure employee bicycle spaces
   > 20 employee individual lockers
   > 4 shower cubicles and supporting areas.
It is noted that the above recommendation is consistent with the initial 50% bicycle provision outlined in
AUSTROADS Guide to Traffic Engineering Practice. Provision should be made to allow an increase to the
full 100%, if the demand warrants additional facilities.
