Rehabilitation Plant Procurement
This will be undertaken within vegetated areas that contain existing established native vegetation with a low to medium level of exotic weed invasion. Local provenance tube stock is to be utilised for all restoration works involving planting where possible. Plants are to be ordered at issuing of contract
Rehabilitation applies: to enable sufficient time for growing on of plant stock. At a minimum, all tubestock plants must be:
• To natural areas where the native plant community is largely healthy and functioning; • Healthy, sun hardened and weed free.
• When native plant seed is still stored in the soil or will be able to reach the site from nearby natural areas, by birds or other animals, wind or water; • Have a well-established root system;
• Where the natural regeneration processes (seedling germination, root suckering, etc.) are being inhibited by external factors, such as weed • Show no signs of yellowing, leaf or stem damage, disease, root curling/girdling, or pot-bound roots.

• When limited human intervention, such as weed control, minor amelioration of soil conditions, erection of fencing, cessation of slashing, etc. will If the listed species are unavailable during the planting phase then similar native species may be used if they are locally indigenous to Regional Ecosystem

The re-establishing plant community will be substantially similar in structure, composition and diversity to the original vegetation type (based on the The prescribed plant quantities are approximate and should be used as a guide only, it is the contractor’s responsibility to complete an onsite measure

Mulch is to be installed, to a depth of 100mm unless otherwise specified. Ensure mulch is produced by chipper or tub grinder, is aged, comprised of
leaf and limb material of varying sizes, free of foreign matter including rock, soil/sediment contamination and is applied to all planting areas as per Maintenance
