5.10 SUSTAINABILITY

A Sustainability Strategy prepared by Cundall is attached. This report has been prepared as the
project aims to encapsulate sustainable design and operation to minimise carbon emissions,
water consumption and waste generation, while enhancing the natural environment and providing
a comfortable environment. The report outlines the Ecological Sustainable Design (ESD)
strategy for the proposed development. While there are no direct sustainability planning
requirements or metrics to be achieved, the development team is cognisant of the sustainability
initiatives within the Noosa Plan 2020 and Noosa Council’s sustainability commitments, including
their Carbon Neutral target. The sustainability strategy has been positioned to enable the
achievement of Carbon Neutral certification in operation.

5.11 WASTE

An Operational Waste Management Plan prepared by TTM Consulting is attached. This report
undertakes an assessment of the likely waste generation of the proposed use and provides a
guide for the design, construction and operational phases of the development to ensure
compliance with the planning scheme requirements.
