• Stage 2: Retail Business Type 4 – Showroom
On 3 April 2013, Noosa Council issued a Decision Notice refusing this application.
Following the refusal by Noosa Council an appeal was subsequently lodged. A final Court order was given
on 15 July 2014, following a contested hearing, granting the Development Approval.
The approval included a Masters Home Improvement Store and garden centre of 9,822m² and a 1,737m²
showrooms. The development was to be staged, with the Masters store to form stage 1 and the showroom to
be constructed in stage 2. A total of 270 car parking spaces were proposed onsite, which are accessible via
an existing roundabout off Hofmann Drive. An extract of the approved plans is illustrated in Figure 6 below.
Two requests to extend the Development Approval to a relevant period was lodged between in June 2018
and July 2018 and were subsequently withdrawn. Hence, the Development Approval lapsed in accordance
with the Sustainable Planning Act 2009 in July 2018
