REPORT
Council has been offered a gift of funding for the construction and consequential maintenance for
a period of five years for a new garden and ancillary infrastructure at Noosaville Lions Park,
adjacent to the Pirate Playground. This offer has been made through the Thomas Foundation in
memory of Barbara Thomas who recently passed away.
1. Details of the gift offered
Mr David Thomas, Chairman of the Thomas Foundation, has offered funding for the construction
of a new garden and seating area in the Noosaville Lions Park. A concept plan for the area is
provided at Attachment 1. The area in question currently has some garden beds, however the
area under consideration did not form part of the foreshore landscaping carried out in the early
2000’s. Photographs of the area as it currently exists are also provided at Attachment 2.
The gift of funding also includes the cost of maintenance for the new gardens, seating and all
associated infrastructure for a period of five years.
