INFRASTRUCTURE & SERVICES COMMITTEE MEETING REPORT 10 NOVEMBER 2015

Total Expenditure $628,042 $679,171 $51,129
Net Operating Surplus/Deficit $229,391 $145,819 $83,572

* Please note depreciation and internal charges are included in total expenditure.
The budget position sees NCS operating within the funding grants for the first quarter of 2015/16.
The main contributor to revenue exceeding budget was an unexpected grant of $20k to assist
with the transition to the My Aged Care platform. Other revenue variances came as a result of
CPI adjustments to funding agreements in holdover.
Employee benefits were underspent by $18,743 for the quarter, largely due to a delay in filling
the role of NCS Team Leader Business Development. Savings of approximately $15k were seen
in contract services accounts, coming as a result of the transition to My Aged Care which
significantly slowed the rate of incoming referrals for a period. This subsequently had a flow on
effect to services delivered by contractors to clients.
An underspend of $18,419 occurred against the rebranding project account due to delays in the
rebranding roll out. The delays were caused by complications in changing the Centre’s name.
This has been resolved by the decision to change the name to Noosa Community Support rather
than Noosa Community Care thereby avoiding any confusion with Blue Care’s “community care”
division.
