RE: Landscape Code Compliance Noosa Springs Boutique Hotel


This letter further explains the compliance with the landscape code of the Noosa Plan 2020 Amended at 25th
of September 2020 and is to be read in conjunction with the Landscape Concept Design Package Issue B dated
23.02.2021.
Generally the landscape design has considered all of the performance outcomes of the landscaping code.
Please find listed below our responses to the Landscape Code Table of Assessment 9.4.5.3;
Amenity
PO1
The landscape takes reference from the Sunshine Coast’s natural assets and aims to sit harmoniously within
its surrounding environment. Planting palettes consist of native and endemic species and have dual sensory
function of sight/smell and attracting local fauna. Hardscapes and forms are directly inspired from the
surrounding natural assets that define Noosa’s sense of place.

Design
PO2

The site layout and landscape has been designed to soften the impact of the built form, minimises impervious
surfaces and where practical retains existing vegetation.

Street Trees
PO3 and PO4

Trees within roads and Car Park areas have been either preserved or planted to maximise shade and to ensure
the continuation of the existing streetscape character.

Safety and Security
PO5

The landscape has been designed to clearly define the boundaries between the public and private areas of
the hotel while still allowing for passive surveillance. The clear delineation between pedestrian and vehicle
circulation has also been considered in the design.
