Energy Efficiency

The landscape has been designed to provide effective micro climates and shade to all communal use areas.

Stormwater and Natural Drainage

The landscape stormwater drainage will utilise rain gardens where possible and best practice WSUD as
directed by the consultant engineer.

We have reduced the amount of hard surfaces across the site to allow for groundwater recharge.

Bank Erosion
PO9

Existing vegetation has been retained on embankments and new vegetation is proposed to shore up
embankments where retaining walls are not being used.

Species Selection
PO10

Generally Species have been selected to retain the existing native character of the Noosa area with the
surrounding buffer areas having Supplemental planting which will contain 100% of less flammable plant
species. A list of recommend ‘less flammable’ plant species is contained in Appendix III of Bushfire Hazard
Assessment/Noosa Springs RFA17-040. The list has been derived from the Regional Ecosystem Technical
Descriptions (Dept. of Science, Information Technology, Innovation and the Arts, 2012), for the Regional
Ecosystem 12.2.5 or are ubiquitous in coastal vegetation communities.

Car Parks
PO11

Over flow Car parks have been designed to reduce the visual impact of hard stand areas by using turf which
will also allow for the natural recharge of ground water and reduction of contaminated runoff.

Services, Utilities and Infrastructure
PO12

The design generally locates vegetation away from services, utilities and infrastructure.
