4.4 SELECTION OF STORMWATER TREATMENT TRAIN
As detailed in Section 3, site runoff from Catchment A will be directed to the proposed detention
tank for attenuation. Catchment B will bypass the detention structure.
It is proposed to treat site runoff via a series of filter baskets within gully pits and filter cartridges
incorporated in the detention tank, as such, it is proposed to treat runoff from Catchment A and
Catchment B will bypass treatment.
Stormwater360, a manufacturer and supplier of mechanical filtration systems, were engaged to
size and model appropriate systems for the proposed development. The filter cartridges proposed
use the PSorb filter media, an alternative to the ZPG stormfilter. Stormwater 360 confirms that the
PSorb option requires less cartidges however this system is subject to Noosa Council approval.
The proposed treatment train requires runoff from the Catchment A road areas and paved and
landscaped areas to be pre-treated with Enviropods fitted to gully pits prior to discharging to the
detention tank for treatment via the filter cartridges. The roof areas of Catchment A will be
conveyed directly to the detention tank for treatment. Refer to MUSIC Model in Appendix F.
It should be noted, that an approved equivalent mechanical filtration system may be utilised
based on price or availability at the time of construction.
Refer to Table 15 below for the stormwater quality treatment details and the civil engineering
plans attached in Appendix C, for the conceptual treatment device locations.
The use of the filter cartridge’s is subject to Noosa Council approval.
