Notes in relation to benchmarking exercise:-
¢ — information has been sourced from the Department of Local Government Annual Comparative Data Returns. The most recent year of data sets available was 2011/12;
e — information for the new Noosa Council was sourced from the interim structure and 2014 6 month budget adopted in January 2014;
¢ — information from the previous Noosa Council was adopted from the 2007 Department of Local Government Annual Comparative Data Return;
e In 2007, the previous Noosa Council provided a range of services using staff but these services are either no longer provided or are provided by other organisations. This
includes Water and Sewerage, Tewantin Child Care Centre, Lifeguards and Building Certification;
« When looking at comparisons, it should be noted that all other Councils provide Water and Sewerage services except for Somerset and Lockyer Valley Regional Councils;
« Some Council have special issues which impact on their operations and hence staff or expenditure levels. These include Lockyer Valley (disaster recovery) Cassowary Coast
(disaster recovery) and Western Downs (CSG mining boom).
