EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The purpose of this report is to provide an update on the status of the implementation of the
Noosa Transport Strategy 2017-2027.
Since the Transport Strategy was adopted, Council’s Infrastructure Services Department,
supported by a number of external consultants have been working on the five initiatives identified
in the strategy. This work has included the assessment of the root causes of the current traffic
and congestion focussing on:
capturing the data necessary to determine what solutions will target the root causes of
congestion, and
identifying the principles and objectives for potential solutions.
The Transport Strategy went through a comprehensive process of stakeholder engagement and
consultation resulting in some 1200 comments and submissions. Based on this feedback five key
priority areas were proposed for further investigation in 2017/18 and 2018/19. These
investigations are now largely completed.
