SERVICES & ORGANISATION COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 10 DECEMBER 2019
Version 2:0 March 2019
e 2019 saw Cooroy Future Group Inc, in partnership with the National Trust of Australia
Queensland, assume management rights of the Great Noosa Trail Walk. This is a 3 day
walk in October, through the Noosa Hinterland.
Where are we now at the end of 2019?
e Our largest project, which is a full time one, is the Cooroy Butter Factory Arts Centre. The
gallery spaces are booked out until the end of 2020. A new residency space has been
created on the mezzanine level and our first two resident artists commenced mid January
for a 10 week period. This space is booked out until the end of 2019; and into the start of
2020. The Artisan Store has 13 more artists than first budgeted. Masterclasses and
workshops are a focus for growth. Our current Permit to Occupy Agreement with Noosa
Council expires at the end of 2019 and we would seek to have another Agreement with
Noosa Council in place to cover the period 1 January 2020 to 31 December 2022.
e Cooroy Fusion Festival, a one day festival, will be relocated to Apex Park, and more around
the BFAC in 2020 due to the start of construction of the Hinterland Playground on the
green space opposite the library, previously the site. The new leadership team has some
exciting concepts including a vision of making the festival plastic, and waste, free. An Event
Co-Ordinator has been hired on a contract basis to manage this Festival, and the Great
Noosa Trail Walk.
e The Great Noosa Trail Walk, held over 3 days in October, was booked out well in advance
this year, with participants will limited to 150.
