Committee Meeting dated 10 December 2019 regarding Tourism Noosa’s 2018/19 Annual
Report and Funding Agreement and:
1. Note the Annual Report for the 2018/19 financial year (including the 2018/19 financial
statements) as provided at Attachment 1 to the report; and
2. Agree to extend the existing Funding Agreement between Tourism Noosa and Council for a

REPORT
Background
Council has received the Annual Report from Tourism Noosa pursuant to section 9 (b) of the new
Funding Agreement. The Funding Agreement includes a number of reporting and other
requirements in clauses 5 (f) and 9. Those key reporting requirements are set out below:
 Clause 5 (f) – Tourism Noosa is required to provide a detailed submission prior to 15 March
each year as part of their recommendation to Council for the annual contribution to them from
the Tourism and Economic Levy. This occurs as part of the annual Council budget process
and includes a requirement that Tourism Noosa provide their proposed annual business plan,
proposed detailed budget and detailed financial information from the previous financial year.
This information enables the Council to understand Tourism Noosa’s financial position and
assist Council in making decisions on the appropriateness of the funding request during its
annual budget process. This occurred earlier this year as part of our budget deliberations.
 Clause 9 (a) – This clause requires Tourism Noosa to provide six monthly updates in
February and August each year on the implementation of their Business Plan and Tourism
Strategy. These updates are aimed at informing Councillors on implementation progress
during the year, and include measurement results based on Tourism Research Australia
data. Tourism Noosa has provided these updates to Councillors during 2018/19.
 Clause 9 (b) – This clause requires Tourism Noosa to provide a copy of their annual report
and audited financial statements by 30 November each year. A copy of their annual report
(incorporating their audited financial statements) was provided to Council on 8 November
2019 and is attached to this report.
