Waste Management Plan
3.1.1 WASTE MINIMISATION
Waste minimisation techniques will be incorporated into the operational phase of the
development. These may include:
• Thorough waste stream separation;
• The appointment of a waste management coordinator to identify local
recyclers and establish a reflective waste program for the development;
• Conducting waste cost reviews including packaging and disposal options;
and
• Sourcing materials and products from environmentally friendly suppliers.
4.0 WASTE STORAGE
This section outlines the general design criteria of the waste storage area as required
by the Noosa Planning Scheme Policy 9 – Waste Management along with the Noosa
Planning Scheme Policy 11 – Waste Management Plans, along with a description of
the proposed bins to be used. Should the proposed development be unable to meet
any of the following requirements, alternative arrangements may be negotiated with
Council at the appropriate time.
4.1 PROPOSED WASTE STORAGE AREAS
All waste generated at the development will be divided into Five distinct precincts, while
smaller waste receptacles will be located within the Marketplace tenancies and back
of house areas for waste disposal. Waste generated from each precinct tenancy will
be transported by facility management or engaged cleaning contractors from the
tenancy to the designated precincts combined waste storage and servicing areas (refer
to Figures 2 – 5).
