Key matters and action items
2. ------ ---- ------------------------------------------- —------- —----------------
On 9 September 2013 the assessment manager (Sunshine Coast Regional Council, now
Noosa Shire Council) issued a development permit for operational work for prescribed tidal
works (beach nourishment) (Council ref: OPW13/0524). The works involve the use of a
front-end loader to extract sand from the low tide area and place the extracted sand against
the scarp at the base of coastal dunes.
A change to condition 1 of SARA’s referral agency response (SDA-0713-003551) is sought
to extend the period of temporary works a further five years. SARA advises it is likely to
support the proposed change and advises the applicant that a minor change application will
need to be lodged with SARA. A minor change application will need to be lodged with the
appropriate DA Form 5 for a change application, the appropriate owners consent obtained
from the Department of Environment and Science and payment of the applicable fee.
3.
Landowner’s Consent
The Planning Act 2016 requires that the owner of the land give consent for certain
development applications. Works are proposed below highest astronomical tide outside of a
canal as defined under the Coastal Protection and Management Act 1995. Therefore,
landowner’s consent for the proposed development must be obtained from the Department
of Resources prior to lodgement of a minor change application. For further information
about lodging an application for landowner’s consent and material that should be included
in your application, please see
