Vegetation
Native vegetation types in Queensland are classified into different Regional Ecosystems
by the Qld. Herbarium. Tech note 6 in the Land for Wildlife booklet provided to you has
more information on Regional Ecosystems.
Regional Ecosystem (RE) mapping undertaken by the Queensland Government
indicates that your property doesn’t contain any one mapped remnant vegetation. The
native vegetation on the property is regrowth riparian rainforest. One section along the
creek exhibits good native species development with species such as Rusty Leaved Tulip
Oak (Argyrodendron trifoliatum) and Oliver’s sassafras (Cinnamomum oliveri) present.

Ecological Values

Flora
The brief flora survey conducted during the property visit recorded 49 native plant species
(Appendix 1), indicating a moderate level of plant diversity.

Fauna
A Wildlife Online extract for fauna records within 2 kilometres from the centre of your
property is presented in Appendix 2. There are records for:

       27 Bird species;
       10 Frog species, including records for the vulnerable listed Tusked Frog;
       1 reptile species;
       1 fish species;
    8 mammal species, including records for Koalas.

Habitat Values
 Areas of dense understorey vegetation along the riparian zone on Middle Creek are
critical for small mammals, reptiles, and birds that rely on understorey vegetation for
shelter and foraging. Fallen timber also provides good habitat particularly for reptiles. The
dam and creek provides a water source for a diversity of native animals, and there is
potential for some listed frog species such as the Tusked Frog (Adelotus brevis) to occur
there.
The native species on the property provides a diverse seasonal range of food resources
for native wildlife such as nectar, fruit, seeds, foliage, and insects.
