2     Site Description

2.1      Area 1 – Gatehouse Entry

2.1.1     Land Uses
Area 1 represents a vegetated mound located to the south of the gatehouse entry point to the estate.
It is flanked to the north by the main access and exit sealed bitumen route to the Estate and to the
south by a linear row of residential dwellings. This vegetation extends for approximately 330m to the
east along Noosa Springs Drive and a short distance to the west where it terminates around a lake.
The total area of the vegetation tract measures approximately 0.8ha. It is functionally separated from
that on the north side of Noosa Springs Drive by the two-lane carriage way and a concrete footpath.
An approximate 2m wide access trail abuts the boundary fence lines of the residences. The
vegetation is irrigated.

2.1.2     Topography
Area 1 comprises a manufactured soil laden mound to approximately 10m-30m width host to planted
vegetation aligned parallel to Noosa Springs Drive. It exhibits gentle to moderate convex slopes with
short slope lengths of only 6-10m distance coupled with a ridge width of approximately 3-5m. For all
intents and purposes, the slope under the Area 1 can be considered level, being equalled out by
both the positive and negative slopes present.
