2.1.3      Vegetation Hazard Classes
Area 1 is comprehensively dominated Vegetation Hazard Class 3.1 - Notophyll vine forest,
comprised of planted rainforest trees and shrubs which have attained an approximate height of 12m-
16m. Numerous large figs are present throughout Area 1. The understorey is generally sparse and
significant surface fuel loads were observed, albeit they exhibit low flammability characteristics by
virtue of the rainforest species origin.
Area 1 and its immediate surrounds comprise the following vegetation hazard classes (classified in
accordance with BRC 2019):
      •    Vegetation Hazard Class 3.1 - Notophyll vine forest (planted);
      •    Vegetation Hazard Class 41.4 – Continuous low grass or tree cover in built up areas; and
      •    Vegetation Hazard Class 42.6 – Nil to very low vegetation cover.

2.2       Area 2 – The Ridge Escarpment

2.2.1      Land Uses
Area 2 comprises a narrow bushland corridor of approximately 15-25m north south width positioned
on a moderate to steep sloping escarpment nestled between a golf course fairway to the south and
residential dwellings to the north. This vegetation corridor terminates at its intersection with Noosa
Springs Drive to the east and extends westward for several hundred metres through to the Lake
Weyba foreshore and to the north through to Bumpy Ash Lane.
The vegetation can be easily accessed along its southern perimeter via the golf course however
access is functionally constrained to moving through individual backyards if trying to access the
northern perimeter. The vegetation is not currently irrigated. Plate 7 details Area 2 conditions.
