Applicable Works Codes

These codes largely relate to the provision of services and infrastructure associated with the proposed
development of the subject site. The site currently has access to an appropriate level of infrastructure.
Driveways and Parking Code

The purpose of the Driveways and parking code is to ensure driveways and parking are adequate to serve
the access and parking needs of development are designed to protect the safety of pedestrians and

cyclists. The proposed development meets the following overall outcomes sought for the Driveways and

Parking Code:

a) Car parking spaces and associated manoeuvring areas are designed to be safe and functional

and meet the reasonable requirements of the particular land use.
f) Driveways and parking areas provide safe and efficient pedestrian and cycle access.

g) Access, parking, servicing and associated manoeuvring areas do not detract from the

streetscape character and are designed to discourage crime and antisocial behaviour.

h) Driveways and parking areas avoid adverse impacts on the environment and the amenity of the

locality.

The proposed vehicle access has been located and designed in accordance with the current Australian
standards for parking facilities, including one footpath crossing. Furthermore, the proposal complies with the

minimum car parking requirements for the intended use while maintaining the integrity of the streetscape.
Earthworks Code
The purpose of the Earthworks code is to ensure earthworks do not unreasonably impact on the natural

environment or other properties and provide a safe and secure work environment. The proposed
development meets the following overall outcomes sought for the Earthworks code are:

a) Earthworks are designed and constructed to be structurally sound.
b) All onsite works provide land stability (including differential settlement or expansion in reactive soils.
c) Earthworks avoid contamination of land.

d) Flooding and drainage are appropriately addressed.
