The Aboriginal Party must be notified to seek their advice and agreement as to how best to manage the activity to avoid or minimise harm to Aboriginal cultural heritage. Database Search In order to assess the established cultural and heritage value of the project site, a search was undertaken of the cultural heritage registers administered by the Department of Natural Resources & Mines. Results of these searches are detailed below along with an assessment of the potential impact of the proposed project to cultural and heritage values. Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Register A search has been conducted on the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Register and Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Database administered by the Cultural Heritage Unit of the Department of Natural Resources & Mines (refer Appendix D). These searches indicated that no items of cultural heritage significance have previously been recorded on the project site and that the Cultural Heritage Coordination Unit of the Department of Natural Resources & Mines currently has no information relating to any sites significant to Aboriginal people in the area. However, it should be noted that the DNRM suggest that the absence of recorded Aboriginal cultural heritage places may reflect a lack of previous cultural heritage surveys of the area. The Draft Noosa Plan 2005 Reference to the Draft Noosa Plan 2005 indicates that the project site is not affected by the Cultural Heritage Overlay Map suggesting that no places known to have cultural or heritage significance have previously been recorded in this area. 2.9 INFRASTRUCTURE 2.9.1 Transport Access to the site will remain in its current position to Holts Road with a cul-de-sac proposed to serve the six (6) allotments.
