EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Not applicable.

RECOMMENDATION
That Council note the report by the Director Corporate Services to the Planning & Organisation
Committee Meeting dated 19 August 2014 providing an update on operations of the Corporate
Services Department.

REPORT
The adopted final organisation structure includes the following sections under the Corporate
Services Department:

                        Finance;
                        Revenue Services;
                        ICT (including Records);
                        Procurement & Fleet; and
                        Property & Facilities

Corporate Services primarily provides internal support to the other Council Departments, with the
exception of the property team that deals primarily with land and property management issues.

Staff have been extremely busy over the last 7 months assisting with the establishment of the
new Council in addition to providing services to the organisation and community. Whilst there
were some initial operational system ‘bedding down’ issues in the first few months of operation
due largely to the short implementation window, systems and processes have settled
considerably in recent times due largely to the excellent level of support provided by Council’s
ICT system providers.

The following table provides a brief summary regarding recent achievements, current priorities
and then what is on the agenda moving forward for the Corporate Services Department.

Competing priorities and workloads including dealing with specific de-amalgamation issues has
resulted in this being the first Departmental update provided to Council.
